Jane Coslett Russell

Jane Coslett Russell, 83, of Dalton, died Tuesday, August 18, in Community Medical Center. Her husband of more than 64 years, Roy William Russell, died June 26, 2008.

Born June 14, 1926, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bessie Benjamin Coslett. A Dalton resident for the past year, she formerly lived in Clarks Summit since 1949. She was a 1943 graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Jane was a friendly smile at PNC Bank, Clarks Summit, where she had worked for more than 26 years as a customer service representative. She formerly was a telephone operator for the Commonwealth Telephone Co., Clarks Summit, and prior to that, worked in the office at the Petersburg Silk Mill, Scranton. She was a member of Clarks Summit United Methodist Church, the American Institute of Banking and the Koda Couples Camera Club. A delightful and jolly person who shared a smile with everyone she met, Jane was a real people person. She had a talent for sewing and sewed most of her children’s clothing. She enjoyed quilting, reading and sharing happy times with her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Grabfelder and husband, Kurt, Clarks Summit; Nancy Smith and husband, Robert, West Mountain; a son, Roy William Russell II and wife Bonita, Dalton; four granddaughters, Karla Gambrill, Julie Whittaker, Abigail Jayne and Melissa Russell; three grandsons, Derek Grabfelder, Adam Smith and Christopher Russell; two great-granddaughters, Emma and Lily Whittaker; seven great-grandsons, Nathan, Matthew and Evan Gambrill, Conner, Caden and Chase Grabfelder, and Tucker Jayne. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Gomer and Josiah Williams and Jack and Edward Coslett.

The funeral was to be held Friday, August 21, at 11 a.m. from Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit.
