Jane Spangenberg, 97, Factoryville, died July 12, at home. She was the widow of Russell B. Spangenberg, who died in December of 1990. They had been married for 57 years. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Irwin Wint and Sophia Kyte Severson. She attended Scranton public schools, the Powell School of Business, Scranton, and the Centennary Collegiate Institute, Hacketstown. She was a Secretary at the Scranton Country Club in the early 1930s. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Factoryville United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Fay King, Clarks Summit and Brenda Spangenberg, Factoryville, with whom she resided; two grandchildren, Robyn Armbruster and her husband, Brian, Merritt Island, FL and John King, Clarks Summit, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell The family would like to thank ASERA Care Hospice for their care and support during Jane’s final months. A funeral will be held private at the convenience of the family at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will be in Abington Hills Cemetery.
