Janet M. Kerner, 58, Lake Winola, died Monday, August 11, at the Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Sanford and Helen Hensley Vanderverken, she was a lifelong resident of Overfield Township and a member of the St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Church, Lake Winola. Surviving are a daughter, Eileen Whitney, Scranton; three brothers, Robert, Carmen, and Sanford all of Lake Winola; a sister, Joan Watkins, Lowville, NY; three grandchildren, Heather, Amanda, and Alyssa. She was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Vandervecken and a brother, Anthony.

A Memorial Mass was to be held from St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Church, Lake Winola with services by Fr. Rick Palmiter. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mill City.
