Edwiga Edith Kalmanowicz Thomas, 90, of Exeter, died Sunday, July 27, in Mercy Hospital. She was the widow of William Thomas.

Born July 4, 1918, in Exeter, daughter of the late Casmir and Antionette Sulzinski Kalmanowicz, she was educated in St. John the Baptist School, Exeter. She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Church and its societies. She was devoted to her church and family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and the happy times with family and friends at her cottage on the river. Her finest quality was her gentle loving kindness for others, especially her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are a sister, Sophia Stascavage, Duryea; nephews and nieces, including her caregiver, Judith A. Hendrickson and husband, Forest, Clarks Summit; and nine grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, William and Dennis Thomas; a daughter, Ann Gustitis; three brothers, Anthony, Charles, and Adam Kalmanowicz; and two sisters, Ann Babushko and Frances Conti.

The funeral was to be Saturday with Mass in John the Baptist Church, 121 Schooley Ave., Exeter, to be celebrated by the Rev. Daniel D. Hitchko, pastor.
