Louis J. Milo Jr., 41, Ransom Twp., died Sunday, August 3, at Mercy Hospital. His wife is the former Donna M. Buranich. The couple recently celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary.

Born in Scranton, son of Louis J. Sr. and Mary Naughton Milo of Carbondale, he had been a resident of Ransom Twp. for the past 14 years. He was a 1984 graduate of Valley View High School. After high school he worked in his father’s trucking and excavating business then went on to work as a heavy equipment operator. In 1999 he was able to fulfill his lifetime dream of establishing his own successful company, L.J. Milo Enterprises Inc., along with his hard-working, loving wife by his side. He was a member of the Church of St. Benedict, the Anthracite Rose Dance Club and the Pennsylvania Utility Contractors Association. He was a loving husband, caring father and wonderful son; a dear friend and an all around great guy to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a man who took pride in his work and always thought of his men as his second family. He was noted for his giant ‘Lou Milo’ hugs that he gave freely with a big smile on his face. He had a great passion for fast cars and trucks. He will be deeply missed by all his family, friends, employees and business associates.

Also surviving are a son, Tyler Louis Milo and a daughter, Mackenzie Marie Milo both at home; a sister Ann Marie Milo, Carbondale; three nephews, Steven Walsh, Carbondale, John and Justin Buranich, Clarks Summit. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, August 7 at 10 a.m. from the Church of St. Benedict, Newton Ransom Blvd., Newton Twp. Interment will be in Milwaukee Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Church of St. Benedict.
