M. Susan Christian, 47, Dalton, died Sunday, May 18, in the Hospice Unit of the Mercy Hospital. Her husband is Kyle H. Christian, they were married 27 years last September.

Born in Scranton, daughter of Jim and Phyllis Mawn Davey, Clarks Summit, she was a Dental Assistant for Dr. Ross Wezmar for 28 years and an instructor for the Adult Dental Assistant Program at the Career Technology Center. She was a member of the Church of St. Gregory, Clarks Green, a 1978 graduate of Abington Heights High School and a 1980 graduate of the Luzerne County Community College, where she earned her associate degree as a Licensed Dental Assistant. She was an active volunteer for Our Lady of the Peace School, Clarks Green and the Scranton Preparatory Parents Club.

Also surviving are a son, Adam and two daughters, Caitlin and Maura Christian, all living at home; five brothers, Jim Davey, and his wife, Lou Ann, Scranton, Paul Davey, Peter Davey and Matthew Davey and his wife Andrea, all of Chevy Chase, MD, and John Davey, and his wife, Kathy, Malvern; two nephews, Tyler and William and a niece Elizabeth.

A Mass of Christian burial was to be held Thursday, May 22 from the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Rd., Clarks Green, to be celebrated by Msgr. John Louis, pastor. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Cathedral Cemetery. Arrangements from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
