Marian Peoples Farischon

Marian Peoples Farischon, 91, of Clarks Summit, died Thursday, July 10, in the Allied Skilled Nursing Facility. She was the wife of the late Lawrence Walter Farischon, who died Nov. 8, 2000. They were married for more than 65 years.

Born April 1, 1917, in Scranton, daughter of the late William Rommell and Helen Wall Peoples, she moved to Clarks Summit in 1977 and was formerly of Falls. She was educated in the Scranton School District and in Newton schools. Before retirement, she had been employed as a sales clerk for the Scranton Dry Goods, the Globe Store and Stearns Department Store, New York City. She was a member of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church and of the Ladies Auxiliary of Abington Memorial VFW Post 7069.

Her dog, Trixie, was her best friend. Marian was known as “Mimi” by her friends and family.

Surviving are a son, Robert L. Farischon and wife, Mary Ann, Roaring Brook Township; two daughters, Joan Durland and husband, Delmar, Falls; and Sally Rice and husband, David, Falls; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Francis H. Peoples.

The funeral will be private from Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit. Interment, Greenwood Cemetery, Schultzville.
