Marion K. Hardy

Marion K. Hardy, 96, formerly of Clarks Green, died Sunday morning, Nov. 15, at Abington Manor, where she had been a resident since 2005. She was the widow of Edward M. Hardy, who died in 1970.

Born in Clarks Green, she was the daughter of the late Rexford and Alma Wade Kimble. She graduated from Technical High School in 1931 and resided most of her life in Clarks Green.

Marion was employed as a secretary for Abington Heights High School, retiring in 1976. She was a devoted member of the Clarks Green United Methodist Church. She was a former president of the Abington Women’s Club, as well as the Clarks Green United Methodist Women, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a poll worker for Clarks Green BoroughA woman of many varied interests and talents, Marion was an accomplished seamstress, gardener, baker and furniture restorer. She was a lover of nature, history, antiques, camping and hiking.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Abington Manor and Asera Care Hospice, as well as Dr. Philip Boccagno, for the care, kindness and support extended to Marion.

Surviving are her four children, Carolyn Linarello and husband, Bernard Linarello, Norristown; Alan Hardy, Norristown; Barbara Schilpp and companion, William Ambagais, Clarks Summit; and Stephen Hardy and wife, Lindsey , Clarks Summit; six grandchildren, Lauren and Brendan Linarello; Evan and Taylor Schilpp; and Melissa and Kristen Hardy; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Edith and Stanley Tucker, Geneva, N.Y., and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kimble, and two sisters, Frances Davis and Ruth Brister.

The funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Clarks Green United Methodist Church, 119 Glenburn Rd., Clarks Green, with services by Pastor Linda Sweezy. Interment, Clarks Green Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
