Martha Morgan Rhodes

Martha Morgan Rhodes “Peg” of Waverly died Thursday, July 2, at the Community Medical Center. She was the widow of Kenneth Anthony Rhodes, who died in 1970.

Born in Chinchilla on Oct. 21, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Margaret Randall Morgan and Abraham Lincoln Morgan.

Surviving are three grandchildren: Anthony L. B. Rhodes and wife, Diane Dietzen, of Horsham; Victoria Gutfreund and husband, Owen, Chappaqua, NY; and William Rhodes and wife, Melissa, Haverford. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Charlotte and Willa Gutfreund, Katherine and John Rhodes and Abigail and Elizabeth Rhodes; a nephew, John Morrison; a niece, Bonnie Rhodes; and her daughter-in-law, Mary Rhodes, with whom she lived.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Kenneth A. Rhodes, Jr.; a sister, Edith Morrison and two brothers, Francis and Henry Morgan.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 8, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the CRB Room of the Waverly Community House.
