Shirley J. ‘Shirl’ Daniels, Waverly died Friday, June 20, at the Community Medical Center. Her husband is Leslie E. Daniels; the couple celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this September.

Born in Watertown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Floyd R. and Ava Patrick Flansburg. She was a resident of Waverly since 1955. Prior to retirement she was an Administrative Assistant for Agriculture Insurances Co., Watertown, NY and a Secretary for Glenn Falls Insurance Co., Syracuse, NY. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waverly.

Also surviving are a son, Scott L. and his wife, Lisa, S. Abington Twp.; two daughters, Cathy L. Brody, and her husband Robert, Massene, NY and Jamie D. Jones, and her husband Douglas, Saunderstown, RI; a grandchild, Dillan Jones, two step grandsons and a great -step grandson. She was preceded in death by a brother, F. James Flansburg.

A funeral was to be held on Tuesday, June 24 from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly.
