William P. Harrington

William Paul Harrington, 66, of Clarks Summit, died Thursday, Oct. 15, in Community Medical Center.

Born July 15, 1943, in Scranton, he was the son of the late William and Eleanore Kellett Harrington. He lived in Clarks Summit since 1975, having moved from Scranton. He was a graduate of South Catholic High School, South Scranton, and he honorably served in the New Jersey Army National Guard. Before retiring, he was supervisor of shipping and receiving for Global Metal, formerly Suckle Corp., Scranton, and he formerly supervised college bookstores. He was a member of Church of St. Gregory, Clarks Green.

Surviving are his lifelong companion and friend Robert “Allan” Weiss, Clarks Summit; and a brother, Dennis Harrington and wife, Marge, Scranton. He was preceded in death by a sister Eleanore.

The funeral was to be Monday, Oct. 19 with mass at Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, to be celebrated by Monsignor John H. Louis. Interment at Fairview Memorial, Elmhurst. Memorial contributions may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, Clarks Summit, PA 18411. Arrangements were made by Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
