Abington Heights

Brittany Martin finished third at the Lackawanna County Commissioners Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 27, at McDade Park, where the Comets finished in second place.

Field Hockey

Lackawanna Trail

Lackawanna Trail won its 10th straight game in Wyoming Valley Conference field hockey with a 5-0 shutout against Honesdale on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Kristen Grunza, Caitlin Green, Alexia Rzucidio, Shawna Engel and Kelly Ross all had goals for the Lions.

Shawna Engle, Katie Darling and Kristen Grunza each had a goal in Lackawanna Trail’s 3-0 win, their 11th straight victory, against Wyoming Area on Thursday, Sept. 25.

Golf

Abington Heights

On the Summit Hills back nine, Casey Fitzpatrick led the Comets, in their 9-0 victory against Old Forge, with a large win in his individual match on Senior Day, Thursday, Sept. 25.

Lackawanna Trail

At Rock Creek, Lackawanna Trail’s David Bolsough and Collin McAndrew each shot 38 to lead the field and the Lions to a 6 � - 2 � victory over Carbondale, on Tuesday, Sept. 23

Soccer

Abington Heights

Pat Callahan scored two goals in the Comets 3-0 victory at Scranton Prep, on Thursday, Sept. 25. Ryan Kusy added the third.

Pat Callahan scored two goals as well on Saturday, Sept. 27, in the Comets 10-0 win at Nanticoke. Dominic DeSanto, Ryan Kusy, Brian Ledy, Sean Burger, Roma Loboda, Luke Kameroski, Mike Strein and Zach Shiposh each had one goal a piece.

Lakeland

Andrew Holt had all three of the Chiefs goals in their 4-3 loss at Carbondale on Tuesday, Sept, 23.

Hannah Tuffy scored three of the Chiefs 4 goals and provided the assist to Brittany Surace, in Lakeland’s 4-0 shutout against Carbondale on Wednesday, Sept, 24.

At Lakeland, Andrew Holt would come up with his second hat trick of the week, scoring three goals in the Chiefs 3-1 win against Blue Ridge, on Thursday, Sept, 25.

Tennis

Abington Heights

At Abington Heights, Courtney Ostrowski, Alexa Abdalla and Jesse Fiegleman each won straight set matches in their 5-0 victory against Holy Cross, on Tuesday, Sept. 23.

The Comets followed this performance with a 5-0 shutout against the West Scranton Invaders on Thursday, Sept. 25.

Volleyball

Abington Heights

At Abington Heights Shelby Morgan had eight kills, 10 points, four aces and four digs. Lizz Emmett added nine kills, seven points, three aces, seven digs and five blocks for the Comets in their 3-1 win against Carbondale on Thursday, Sept. 25.

Lackawanna Trail

At Montrose, Casey Chibirka led the Lions with three aces Alyssa Dippel contributed four kills and two blocks, and Rachel Eremo had six aces in their 3-0 win on Tuesday, Sept. 23.

At Lackawanna Trail, Paige Ross had five kills, two blocks and two aces, while Ashley Loss added four kills and eight aces for the Lions, in their 3-0 win against Mountain View on Thursday, Sept.25.
