Abington Heights James Fruehan made a key interception during Saturday afternoon’s football game against North Pocono, rushing ball down field to get the Comets within field goal range. Fruehan was taken out of the game after this play due to a leg injury.

Nicole Smith, Julie Umerich and Kaitlyn Roberts each scored a Comets goal in Abington’s 3-1 victory over Pittston Area on Friday, Oct. 3.

Caitlin Green had two goals to lead the Lions to a 7-1 victory over Hazleton Area on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Kristen Grunza, Nicole Bruce, Shawna Engle, Kayla Grunza and Lacey Croasdale each had a goal.

At Stone Hedge front nine, Joe Karam and Sasha Nelson swept the opening foursome in six holes to spark a 9-0 shutout against Western Wayne, on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
Comet Connor Coldwater came in third at the District 2 golf championships at Fox Hill Country Club on Monday, October 6.

At Abington, Ryan Kusy scored two goals, while his teammates Dominic Castanzo and Justin Klingman each picked up one in the Comets’ 4-0 victory over Hazleton area, on Saturday, Oct. 4.
Lakeland
Brittany Surace had three goals for the Chiefs during their 8-2 win at Forest City on Monday, Oct. 6. Teammate Becca Keller added two of her own.
