Early special teams play got Holy Cross in trouble, then John Salinkas ran for three touchdowns to help Susquehanna pull away for a 45-20 Lackawanna Football Conference Division 3 victory.
Susquehanna improved to 2-1 in the division and 6-2 overall, assuring the Sabers of their first winning season since 2000.
Brad Weaver returned the opening kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown then Holy Cross fumbled the ensuing kickoff.
The Crusaders came up with a stop, then fumbled a punt for their second turnover before running a play.
Nick Marco ran 6 yards for a touchdown and a 13-0 lead.
Holy Cross (0-3, 1-7) then lost its third fumble in the first 3:30.
Susquehanna's Dan Kempa ran 12 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns, including a 1-yarder on the second play of the second quarter for a 19-0 lead.
After Michael Paddock threw a 68-yard touchdown pass to Travis Graziano to get Holy Cross on the scoreboard, Kempa answered with a 56-yard touchdown run.
Graziano ran 2 yards for a touchdown to cap an 11-play, 56-yard drive, but Susquehanna needed just two plays to respond for the second straight time.
Salinkas, who finished with 130 yards on eight carries, ran 46 yards for a 33-12 halftime lead.
Salinkas added scoring runs of 46 and 20 yards in the third quarter.
Holy Cross finished with a 309-287 advantage in total offense, with the help of a 46-3 edge against Susquehanna's reserves in the fourth quarter. Dane Addley threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Mark Seber with 4:53 remaining.

Abington Heights ran away from visiting Scranton, 35-0, Sunday afternoon to regain sole possession of the Lackawanna Football Conference Division 1 lead.
The game was scoreless after one quarter. Mike Beamish then found Mike Umerich on a pair of second-quarter touchdown passes, covering a total of 94 yards to make the score 14-0 at halftime.
Beamish and Paul Gallagher ran for third-quarter touchdowns to push the lead to 28-0.
Abington Heights improves to 4-1 in the division and 7-1 overall.
