All of the teams in the Lackawanna League and the Wyoming Valley Conference took part in the third annual Coaches vs. Cancer this past weekend to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
Lackawanna Trail’s Coach Andrew Kettel, shown below, founded the event and received more than $2,500 from students and staff of the high school and elementary center.
Four seniors Janelle Srebro, Nicole Krzywick, Matthew Mugford and Sean Fricke helped out, by joining forces for their senior project selling T-shirts and name tags for the event. Students are shown above wearing the shirts.
Teachers also donated money to the cause for “dress down day.” Cheerleaders and basketball players, shown below, wore their T- shirts in support when they traveled to Montrose for their 54-47 loss on Saturday, Jan. 30. Tanner Holmes, shown at right, finished with five points.
