In Ballroom 1, parents met with the coaches. In Ballroom 2, sophomore to senior Comets sat at tables according to grade. The cheerleaders also sat in a table according to grade. Tickets for raffle baskets and door prizes were sold.

“This is a kickoff to a very successful season,” said Jan Johnson, vice president of the Comet Football Fan Club. The Abington Heights Varsity Football cheerleaders were called to the dance floor to perform their cheer for the Comets’ opening game, which will be an away game against the Hazleton Cougars on Friday, August 29. Their first home game is on September 6, at which they will go up against Wyoming Valley West.

The dinner was a way for football players, cheerleaders, parents and coaches to get to know each other. “We are looking forward to a great season,” said Alyssa Warpus, Abington Heights senior and cheerleader.
