Comets rebound in soccer

Abington Heights rebounded from its first loss to defeat Crestwood, 5-1, in a District 2 Class AA boys' soccer quarterfinal at Marywood University.

The Lackawanna League Division 1 champion Comets were playing for the first time since having their perfect record ruined in the regular-season finale.

Abington Heights advances to meet Dallas in Tuesday's semifinals.

In other District 2 tournament action Friday:

Coughlin defeated Wallenpaupack, 3-1, in Class AAA field hockey to advance into Monday's semifinal at defending champion Lackawanna Trail.

Dallas edged Nanticoke, 2-1, in Class AA field hockey to earn a semifinal game at undefeated defending state champion Wyoming Seminary.
