SCRANTON -- Derek Klingman and Zach Shiposh scored in the final 8:41 of the first half Tuesday night to lead Abington Heights to a 3-0 victory over Dallas in the District 2 Class AA boys' soccer semifinals.

Abington Heights will meet Coughlin, a 6-1 winner over Western Wayne in the other semifinal, Thursday at Lake-Lehman at 6.

Both of Tuesday's winners clinched berths in the state tournament.

Brian Levy added a second-half goal and the Comets held the Mountaineers to four shots in the first 60 minutes.

"With Denis Laboda in the back and Justin Klingman in the back, their whole defense is solid," Dallas coach Chris Scharff said.

Justin Passetti made four saves for the shutout.

Thursday's final is a matchup of the Division 1 champions of each league. Coughlin went 13-0-1 in the Wyoming Valley Conference while Abington Heights went 13-1-0 in the Lackawanna League.
