High school roundup

Following are the results of last week’s high school sports contests.

GOLF

Lackawanna Trail

Dave Boslough shot the low round of 37, coming out 3 and 2 over Mountain View’s John Butler to lead the Lions to an 8-1 victory over Mountain View at Rock Creek at the Rock Creek Tournament, Wednesday, August 20.

The Lions came up victorious again on Monday, August 25, this time at Sleepy Hollow. Six Lions came up with wins in their 6-3 victory over Trail, Collin McAndrew and Simon Pidgeon split; Chris Sunday over Kaitlin VanFleet, 1-up; Matt Corby over Pete Larioni, 3 and 1; Michael Harris over Sean Price, 4 and 3 and Michael DelPrete over Joe Pryle, 2 and 1.

Lakeland

Lakeland lost their first match of the season 8-1 against Western Wayne. Rich Hallowich of Lakeland split with Casey Hobbs of Western Wayne.

Abington

Connor Coldwater made four birdies, helping him edge out Mike Osterstorm, 5 and 3, during Abington’s victory over Riverside 9-0, Monday, August 25 at Pine Hills.

Sasha Nelson made an eagle on No. 8 over Sean Bennie coming up 4 and 3.

Tennis

Abington Heights

Abington came up big Monday, August 25, beating Honesdale in five straight sets.

Singles: Alexa Abdalla over Emily Daniels, 6-0, 6-1; Courtney Ostrowski over Benita Pursch; 6-2, 6-2; Ashley Adba over Brittany Kriner, 6-1, 6-0.

Doubles: Jess Fiegleman- Brittany Kazmieski over Natalie Huff Sara, 6-1, 6-1; Laura Poulson Houser-Becca Schoenberg over Courtney Kimball-Kelly Rickart; 6-1, 6-1.
