Holy Cross hands Dunmore first loss

Holy Cross ruined the last perfect record in Lackawanna League Division 2 boys' basketball and did so emphatically.

The Crusaders broke Dunmore's 10-game league winning streak and 12-game overall streak Friday night by avenging a pair of losses from earlier this season with a 69-39 rout.

The teams entered the night in a three-way tie for the second-half Division 2 lead with Carbondale.

Abington Heights and Scranton both rolled to big wins in Division 1.

Abington Heights remained unbeaten in the second half with a 49-30 victory over Scranton Prep while first-half champion Scranton ripped Honesdale, 92-66.

Forest City defeated Susquehanna, 56-49, in a game between what had been the last two winless teams in the half in Division 3.
