Julie Hubbard, a freshman midfielder from Abington Heights, is part of the Penn State women's soccer team which begins National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Tournament play Friday at home.
The 16th-ranked Nittany Lions (12-5-2) faces Colgate at 7:30. Virginia and St. John's play in the first game at 5.
The two winners meet in a second-round game of the 64-team tournament Sunday at 1.
Hubbard played 76 minutes in five games and had one shot on goal after being unavailable early in the season while recovery from injuries. She ranked 20th of 29 players on the roster in playing time and sixth among the team's 11 freshmen.
Penn State is in the NCAA Tournament for the 15th straight year.
