West Scranton and Scranton each won their first match at the District 2 Class AAA Dual Meet Wrestling Championships before being eliminated Friday night at Pittston Area High School.
Hazleton Area and Delaware Valley, regular-season division champions and top seeds in the tournament, won two matches apiece to reach the championship match Saturday at 7 at Pittston Area.
West Scranton defeated Berwick, 33-25, in a preliminary round match of the nine-team tournament.
Sean Jakes (119), Mike Joyce (130) and Cory Hendry (152) each had first-period pins for the Invaders.
Lackawanna League Division 1 champion Delaware Valley then eliminated West Scranton, 44-23, despite another quick pin by Hendry.
Tom Hendry's technical fall at 103 started the process of cutting a 24-0 deficit to 24-9 then 28-18, but the Invaders could not get any closer.
Scranton topped Coughlin, 49-24, after falling behind, 18-6, in the first four bouts.
Josh Quirk, Carlos Montero and Shane McTiernan had consecutive pins from 112 through 125 to fuel the comeback.
Hazleton Area eliminated the Knights, 43-30, in the semifinals.
Ryan Vogel's 6-4 decision at 145 clinched Pittston Area's 33-29 win over Abington Heights.
James Fruehan had the only pin for Abington Heights at 152.
Delaware Valley eliminated Pittston Area, 40-31, in the semifinals.
Hazleton Area reached the semifinal by defeating Honesdale, 44-22, then eliminated Scranton.
