Marywood pulls out women's basketball opener

Mariah Schaeffer converted both free throws with four seconds remaining Wednesday night to lead Marywood University to a 70-68 victory over host Elizabethtown College in its women's basketball opener.

Amanda Lass scored 17 points to lead Marywood, which overcame a 21-8 deficit midway through the first half.

Lizzy Green and Lauren Rogan, a sophomore from Holy Cross, added 13 points each. Schaeffer finished with 11.

Marywood plays its home opener Friday at 6 against Penn State-Hazleton.
