Megee, Jones named CSAC all-stars

Marywood University sophomore midfielder Brett Megee and freshman back Ryan Jones were named first-team Colonial States Athletic Conference men’s soccer all-stars Sunday.

Megee leads Marywood with five goals and one assist. He was a second-team, all-star last season as a freshman.

Jones was the only freshman named to the first team. He had two goals and led the team with five assists, including two on game-winning goals.

Goalie Jared El Gayeh made the second team for the second straight year. He leads the conference in goals against average (0.75) and save percentage (.867).

Joshua Hicks was Marywood’s recipient of the CSAC Sportsmanship Award.

The Pacers are the fourth seed in the CSAC playoffs and will host Gwynedd-Mercy in Tuesday’s quarterfinals at 7.

Baptist Bible College forward Caleb Byron and backs Gavin Gromacki and Joe Peterson received honorable mention. Forward Scott Bensinger, an honorable mention selection, was the only Keystone College player recognized by the league.

Nathan Brock of BBC and Ryan Ehrhardt of Keystone were Sportsmanship Award recipients.
