Scranton men, Marywood women advance to soccer finals

The University of Scranton men's soccer team and Marywood University women's soccer team won playoff games Wednesday to advance to conference championship games.

The Keystone College field hockey team and Scranton women's soccer team were knocked out of the playoffs in the semifinals.

North Pocono Jeff Bochicchio scored his second goal of the game in the second overtime to lift Scranton over top-seeded Drew University in the Landmark Conference semifinals.

The Royals will play at Catholic University for the Landmark title and a national tournament berth Saturday.

Marywood held off visiting Gwynedd-Mercy, 2-1, to reach the Colonial States Athletic Conference final.

The Pacers will face Cabrini at Immaculata College Saturday with a chance to return to the NCAA Division III tournament for the second straight year.

Keystone's hopes of reaching the NCAA tournament in its second season as a four-year field hockey program were spoiled in a 2-0 loss to visiting Gwynedd-Mercy at Riverfront Sports in Scranton.

Catholic eliminated the Scranton women's soccer team, 3-2.
