Dunmore settled the Lackawanna Football Conference Division 2 title last week when the divisions top four teams played each other.
This week, it is Division 3's turn to move closer to deciding a champion.
Old Forge, which joins Dunmore as the LFC's only unbeaten teams, cannot go quite as far as the Bucks did a week ago.
The Blue Devils are in position to clinch at least a tie for the title, but unlike the Bucks, they cannot get enough help to clinch the title outright yet.
Old Forge (3-0 in the division, 8-0 overall) is at Mid Valley (2-1, 6-2) Friday night.
The two teams tied for second with Mid Valley meet Saturday when Carbondale (2-1, 4-4) plays at Susquehanna (2-1, 6-2). Carbondale's last five games feature four wins and a one-point loss to Old Forge.
Old Forge still has a game against Susquehanna in the regular-season finale.
Dunmore, the new top-ranked team in the state in Class AA, according to the Harrisburg Patriot-News, gets a week off from league competition to play at Hanover Area (4-4) Friday night.
Division 1 leader Abington Heights (7-1) also has a non-league road game at Tunkhannock (2-6).
While the Comets are off from league play, North Pocono and Delaware Valley have a chance to tie them for first in a division race that may never be completely settled. The three contenders are already 1-1 against each other and could potentially end up in a tie for the title.
Delaware Valley (3-1, 4-4) is at Scranton (2-3, 4-4) while North Pocono (3-1, 7-1) is at Honesdale (0-4, 0-8) and West Scranton (1-3, 2-6) is at Wallenpaupack (2-2, 6-2).
There are four teams with a shot at second place in Division 2 where Friday's schedule features Scranton Prep (2-2, 5-3) at Valley View (3-2, 3-5), Lakeland (2-2, 5-3) at Western Wayne (2-2, 4-4) and Riverside (1-3, 2-6) at Montrose (0-4, 1-7).
The bottom two teams in Division 3 meet when Lackawanna Trail (0-3, 0-8) plays at Holy Cross (0-3, 1-7) Saturday.
