Two Marywood teams eliminated from CSAC play

Chris Playford scored two goals Tuesday as Gwynedd-Mercy College knocked off host Marywood University, 2-1, in the Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer quarterfinals.

The men's soccer team was one of two Marywood squads to be eliminated from CSAC playoffs Tuesday with losses at home against lower-seeded teams.

Philadelphia Biblical topped Marywood, 25-21, 25-21, 25-19, in women's volleyball.

Anthony Kapp scored with just under 20 minutes to play to bring the Pacers within one of Gwynedd-Mercy. Marywood took six shots at the tie, but was unsuccessful and finished its season 7-9-2.

The Marywood women's volleyball team finished 10-16.

Top-seeded Marywood hosts fourth-seeded Gwynedd-Mercy in a women's soccer semifinal Wednesday at 2.
