Seven Lackawanna County high school football teams appear to be headed to the District 2 playoffs.
Dunmore (Class AA) and Old Forge (Class A) have clinched top seeds in four-team tournaments while Abington Heights is close to wrapping up the Class AAA seed as it prepares to play winless Honesdale.
North Pocono (AAA) and Riverside (A) are also in the playoffs.
Lakeland and Mid Valley are close to locking up the last two spots in Class AA. They each play against 1-8 teams and can only run into potential trouble if they lose or Susquehanna knocks off unbeaten Old Forge.
Susquehanna is fifth in the race for four Class AA spots.
Wallenpaupack, another Lackawanna Football Conference member, has an outside shot at a District 2-4-11 Subregional tournament in Class AAAA.
