The game will be played with a pink ball and the Lady Comets plan to wear pink headbands and bracelets. The players approached head coach Heather Gow with the idea to play a game for breast cancer research in honor of sixth grade teacher Denise Rosiak, who is currently battling the disease.

Baked goods will be sold at the game. The varsity and junior varsity teams at AH will add to the cause with the proceeds raised by their scrimmage on Oct. 9.

For a story and images from the Oct. 16 game, see next week’s edition of The Abington Journal.

Members of the AHMS field hockey team, shown above with coach Gow, include Sara Beamish, Morgan Palmiter, Ali Epstein, Tessa Barrett, Katie Fischer, Kathleen Shedlock, Tara Hambrose, Paige Notarrani, Claire Notarrani, Chloe Cummings, Lauren Larar, Malorie McCoy, Abagail Craig, Sarah Mahlar, Melanie Fricchione, Lilli McHale, Briana Jaegar, Kaitlin Scappatura, Megan Kane, Alanna Mecca, Leah Silverman, Alyssa McMinn, Serna DeSeta, Carla Stillwagon, Isabella Bianchi and manager Elise Notarriani.
