Alexa Dziak, shown above, finished first with a score of 395.15. She was followed by Katy Bills, 308.20, Quinn Gibbons, 300.85 and Marisa Gretz, 273.40.

Dziak defended her title at the event while setting a meet and Abington Heights High School 11 dive record. According to diving coach Kevin Smith, surpassing the school record was one of Dziak’s biggest season goals and she accomplished it Friday.

Bills’ performance was one of the best of her career and Smith believes that she and Gibbons have potential to have good showings at next weekend’s District II Championships.

Gretz’s fourth place finish is also impressive, especially considering this is her first year as a diver.

The boys team was paced by Mike Diskin who ended with a score of 332.10, which was enough for fourth place. Diskin finished behind three AAA divers, leaving the AA competition within his grasp for districts.

Dan Jasinski finished ninth for the Comets with a score of 231.80. Like Gretz, Jasinski’s finish is made more impressive by the fact he is a first-year diver.
