The Ethics Institute of Northeastern Pennsylvania at Misericordia University recently presented Attorney Joseph L. and Ms. Patrice Persico, of Shavertown, with the Sister Siena Finley Ethics Award during the 18th Annual Ethics Institute Dinner at the Woodlands Inn and Resort, Plains Township.

The Back Mountain Wizards boys soccer team captured the Back Mountain U11 championship and U11 Luzerne County Cup Championship. The Dallas Middle School soccer team defeated Abington Heights, 3-2, Wednesday afternoon at the Lake-Lehman soccer field to earn its second consecutive District 2 championship. The Mountaineers sported a 14-0-1 record entering the game and were escorted back to their school by Dallas Borough and Franklin Township fire trucks following the victory.

MU donates safety shields to police

Legion donates to food pantry

Representatives from the Daddow-Issacs Post 672 American Legion in Dallas recently made a generous donation of $400 to the Back Mountain Food Pantry. Their annual donation came in equal shares from the American Legion, the Sons of the American Legion, the Women’s Auxiliary and the Home Association.
