Activities slated at Lehman-Idetown UM

The December services for the Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church are as follows:

Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. for all ages pre K to Adult. This year there is a class for junior and senior high school ages. Sunday Morning worship is at 10:30 .am.


Barbershoppers will present concert

A “Songs of Christmas” concert will be held by the Wyoming Valley Barbershop Harmony Chorus at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, atthe Shavertown United Methodist Church, Pioneer Avenue.

Treats in the trunk

Celebrating Halloween in a very different, not to mention very safe, way, parishioners of the Shavertown United Methodist Church decorated their car trunks to allow children to trick or treat in a safe environment. And there was nothing shabby about these decorations, either. There were spiders, pirates and all kinds of scary stuff, making for a fun evening for costumed children.

Seventh-day Adventist Church plans rummage sale today

The Seventh-day Adventist Church will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to noon today, Nov. 2, at the former Back Mountain Antiques shop, located at the junction of Routes 29 and 309 across from the Fireplace Gallery in Noxen. Items included in the sale are clothing, household items, Christmas decorations, antiques, lawn furniture, linen and tools. Fall rummage sale planned at DUMC

The Dallas United Methodist Church, 4 Parsonage St., Dallas, will hold its annual fall rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 1. There will be a baked goods table, jewelry, clothing, household items and many more treasures. Lunch and snacks will be served, including homemade soup, wimpies, hot dogs and pies and cakes.
