Shavertown United Methodist Church holding community Thanksgiving meal

Shavertown United Methodist Church invites the community to its Thanksgiving dinner that will be served family-style and free to anyone who does not want to be alone or cook this holiday. Candy fundraiser benefits St. Paul’s

More than 25 members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Dallas helped with the annual homemade Chocolate Candy Fundraiser the week of October 19-22. Shown here, seated, are Helen Carey and Ruth Ide. Five families join St. Paul’s Church

Five new families joined St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Dallas, on Reformation Sunday, Oct. 25. Choir enjoys Halloween rehearsal

Members of the Gate of Heaven Youth Choir recently enjoyed a Halloween rehearsal where the singers attended a choir rehearsal dressed as saints and provided other members of the choir with a short biography of the person, along with other important information such as the date of the saint’s feast day. Prizes were awarded for the most realistic depiction, the most creative costume and the best knowledge of information relating to the saint’s life. DUMC Sunday School plans chicken dinner

The Dallas United Methodist Sunday School will hold a Chicken Cordon Blue Sunday Dinner at noon on Sunday, Nov. 15, in the church’s social hall. Tickets will be on sale before and after church services on Sundays and also at the church office at 675-0122. Advance tickets are required. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
