The Altar & Rosary Society of St. Therese’s Church in Shavertown will host its 51st Annual Birthday Tea starting at 6 p.m. today, Oct. 11, in Father Sammons Hall.
There will be refreshments, birthday gifts, door prizes, theme basket and entertainment by “Three Friends & Baritone.”
Tickets will be sold for a quilt made by prize-winning quilters Millie Yanchik, Jean Carey, Ruth Youngblood, Peggy Fischer, Mona Dymond, Patti Gallagher, Norma Pluskie and Joan Colatosti.
Father James J. Paisley, pastor and moderator, and Betsy Balonis, president of the society, are honorary chairpersons.
Terry Brown will present the birthday gifts and Ann Domnick, Alice Hudak and Shirley Moyer are in charge of drawing prizes.
Alice Solinsky and Mary Petty are in charge of quilt chances; Dell Luke, programs and publicity; Alice Hudak and Ann Domnick, table tickets and chances; Norma Pluskie and Millie Yanchik, theme baskets; Peggy Ley, Patti Gallagher and Joan Colatosti are in charge of the kitchen.
