Vacation Bible School scheduled this week

Fellowship Evangelical Free Church 45 Hildebrandt Rd., Dallas, will host its annual Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. July 7-11 for children ages 2 years to fifth grade. This year’s theme is “Son World Adventure Park” where children will enjoy an amusement park and carnival atmosphere while learning to make right choices in a world of options.

Meat Loaf Dinner slated at Loyalville

A Baked Meat Loaf Dinner and Bake Sale will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, at the Loyalville United Methodist Church.

Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. Takeouts are available by calling 477-3521 and leaving your name, phone number, number of dinners and pickup time.

Grace Community Church sets VBS

Boys and girls ages 3-12 years are invited to experience a “Voyage on Noah’s Ark” as they learn Bible stories, sing songs, enjoy games, crafts and puppet skits at Grace Community Church’s “Voyage on Noah’s Ark” Bible School from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 14-18.

The church is located on Route 415, North Memorial Highway, Dallas (across from Chapel Lawn Cemetery). Enroll by calling 675-3723 or through the church’s website at www.gracechurchdallas.org.

Chicken Barbeque planned at TUMC

The Trustees of the Trucksville United Methodist Church will hold a “Take-Out Only” Chicken BBQ from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 18. Orders may be picked up at the Dickson Educational Facility on Church Road.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children and must be ordered in advance. Call the church office at 696-3897 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday to reserve tickets.

DUMC plans VBS

Dallas United Methodist Church will sponsor an evening Vacation Bible School this summer entitled “Friendship Trek – Jesus Our Forever Friend,” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. July 21-25. A light supper will be served, followed by classes for children from pre-school through sixth grade. In lieu of an offering, food items will be collected for the Back Mountain Food Bank.

St. Paul’s sets summer celebration event

St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Route 118, Dallas, will hold an “All That Jazz” Summer Celebration/Live Auction on Saturday, Aug. 16, starting at 10 a.m. Auction bidding will begin at 6:30 p.m.

In addition to the wide range of items available for sale at the craft fair, there will be booths selling baked goods, books, plants, jewelry and “odds and ends” items, as well as a basket silent auction.

Afternoon entertainment will begin at 12:30 p.m. and will include “Kate & Friends,” a Christian ventriloquist group, and the barbershop quartet “Three Friends and a Baritone.” A children’s activities booth will provide games and simple crafts for young children. A local antiques expert will offer free appraisals from 4 to 5 p.m.

Quilting held every Thursday evening

Quilting is held from 6 to 9 p.m. every Thursday at the Cross Creek Community Church Youth House, 370 Carverton Rd., Trucksville.

Grief Support Group meets at St. Paul’s

A grief support group led by Rev. Peggy Sue Pfeffer of Hospice St. John is held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Rt. 118, Dallas at 7 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month.

Anyone experiencing grief at the loss of a loved one is invited and encouraged to attend. There is no charge, but reservations are requested and can be made by calling 675-3859.

New grief support group forms

The new Grief Relief group that was formed recently will meet at 9 a.m. on the first Saturday of every month at the Center Moreland United Methodist Church, Creamery Road, Center Moreland. The group is open to the public. For information, call Pastor Drew Cottle at 333-4354.
