Music and arts coming to Dallas Methodist Church

A day of music and arts will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20, at the Dallas United Methodist Church, 4 Parsonage St., Dallas,

There will be a quilt show, paintings from local artist, jewelry by Laura Slocum, needlework, sketches, carvings and other items.

The musical portion of the day is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. when groups and soloists will perform in the church sanctuary. Scheduled to participate are the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Senior Choir, Rev. Gideon Gaitano, organist Mark Pall, the DUMC Children’s Choir, the Dallas School Barbershoppers, Regan Palfey on the trumpet, piano soloist Peter Uritz and others. The event will end with a hymn sing.

A free will offering will be taken to assist the Rev. Drew Cottle family as Donna Cottle battles a brain tumor.
