Celebrating Halloween in a very different, not to mention very safe, way, parishioners of the Shavertown United Methodist Church decorated their car trunks to allow children to trick or treat in a safe environment. And there was nothing shabby about these decorations, either. There were spiders, pirates and all kinds of scary stuff, making for a fun evening for costumed children.

Carly and Charlie Kappler, of Dallas, were Dorothy and the Tin Man from ”The Wizard of Oz” in the back of their parents’ car.

Showing off the back of their van which they decorated to look like a spider are Noah, left, Meghan, center, and Bev Daily, of Dallas.
