Cook’s Pharmacy program aids Back Mountain Food Pantry

Frank Lombardo, left, owner, and Penny Higgins, right, manager of Cook’s Pharmacy in Shavertown, announce a fundraiser for the Back Mountain Food Pantry at their store on Route 309. During the months of October, November and December, Cook’s Pharmacy will offer customers an opportunity to help their neighbors during the upcoming holiday season. For every can of food a customer takes to the pharmacy, he or she will receive a 10 percent discount on any one over-the-counter item in the store. Cigarettes, lottery tickets and prescription drugs are excluded from this program.
