Misericordia University has welcomed the services of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Luzerne and Wyoming Counties to help the university better serve visitors to the new Pauly Friedman Art Gallery on the campus in Dallas. The RSVP volunteers will help staff the reception desk in the newly opened 2,700-square-foot art gallery in Sandy and Marlene Insalaco Hall, helping to welcome people and direct them to different areas of the gallery.
The next installation at the gallery, “Capturing Realism 2009: Waichulis Studio,” features the creative works of apprentices and alumni of the nationally recognized Waichulis atelier. The exhibit opens with a Meet-the-Artists Reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, and will run through Dec. 19. The reception and exhibit are open free to the public.
