PLAINS TWP. – The District 2 athletic committee is hoping to hold a hearing the week of Dec. 7 concerning the allegations that members of the Dallas High School football team urinated on the tennis courts at Tunkhannock on Sept. 18.

Local agencies get sewer grants

HARRISBURG – Gov. Edward G. Rendell has announced the awarding of $2.2 million in sewage facilities enforcement grants to 281 local agencies to reimburse costs associated with permitting on-lot sewage systems during 2008.

Two area Saab dealers lose dealership rights

KUNKLE – For 52 years new Saabs have been sold in this Dallas Township village. But by year’s end that will no longer be the case. Kunkle Motors has been informed that it will be one of 81 Saab dealers in the United States that will have its dealership rights terminated once the company is sold to Swedish carmaker Koenigsegg.
