Dallas Days Dance scheduled for September 11

The 2009 Dallas Days Dance will take place from 6 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, at the Checkerboard Pavilion, Carverton Road, Trucksville.

Featured musical guests will be area southern rock icons “Abilene” in a final Back Mountain performance.

Tickets, which will be available beginning in July, will cost $25 per person, and include hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, coleslaw, beer and soda.

A cash bar will also be available.

Due to the size of this year’s dance venue, only a limited number of tickets will be sold.

Among this year’s Dallas Days Weekend (Sept. 18-20) events will be Dallas Days Sidewalk Sales & Scavenger Hunt beginning Friday, Sept. 18; and Best of Open Mic on Friday evening, Sept. 18 (time and location will be announced).

The 2009 Dallas Harvest Festival Steering Committee will meet on the following dates: Wednesday, July 8; Wednesday, July 22; Wednesday, Aug. 5; Wednesday, Aug. 26; Wednesday, Sept. 2; and Tuesday, Sept. 8. Meetings will be held at 7 p.m. at the Dallas Borough Municipal Building, 5 Main St., Dallas.
