Marijuana plants found in Tunkhannock home

NOXEN TWP. – State police at Tunkhannock said they found more than 200 marijuana plants inside a Wyoming County residence on Maple Street on Tuesday.

Police said they executed a search warrant at the home owned by Jean Denmon after an informant claimed her son, Larry Denmon, was growing and selling marijuana.

Troopers with the state police Vice Unit searched the property and allegedly found marijuana plants growing near a greenhouse and in an apple orchard that is hidden by thick brush and weeds, police said.

Police said they seized 201 marijuana plants, 21 marijuana plants drying in a bedroom, 17 marijuana plants drying in the greenhouse, a shotgun, and various drug paraphernalia.

Police said they expect to file charges in the near future.
