‘Family Day’ speaker is announced

Professor Don McCall, of Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, will be the speak special at “Family Day” services today, Oct. 11, at the Northmoreland Baptist church, Centermoreland.

Professor McCall will speak at the 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. hours. For more information, call 333-5185.

Pasties available at Maple Grove church

Pasties will be baked at Maple Grove United Methodist Church, 5876 Main Rd., Sweet Valley, on October 15 and November 19.

LIUM Women plan rummage sale

The Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Women will hold their annual fall rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 17. Saturday will be bag day

There will be a bake sale on Friday and lunch will also be served for a fee. Friday will also be bag day. Articles for the sale may be dropped off at the church anytime.

Roast beef dinner set

The Dymond Hollow United Methodist Church will hold its annual roast beef dinner from 4:30 p.m. until sold out on Saturday, Oct. 17. Take-outs will be available from 4 to 4:30 p.m.

Dinner will include roast beef, gravy, real mashed potatoes, squash, creamed cabbage, green beans, homemade coleslaw, homemade applesauce, red beets, rolls, homemade pies and beverages.

Tickets, priced at $8 for adults, $4 for children between the ages of 5 and 12 and free for children under age 5, will be available at the door. For more information, call 388-6566 or 333-5110.

Gospel music program planned for Oct. 17

“Harvest in the Wildwood” featuring Southern Gospel music with the Miller Family will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, Village Road, Orange.

‘Trunk or Treat’ planned at SUMC

The Second Annual “Trunk of Treat’ will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, in the parking of the Shavertown Untied Methodist Church, Pioneer Avenue.

Children are invited to participate in their Halloween costumes to collect treats from decorated trunks in a safe environment.

Rev. David Crandall to speak at ‘Friend Day’

Rev. David Crandall of “Answers in Genesis” will speak at “Friend Day” on Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Northmoreland Baptist Church, Centermoreland.

He will speak at the 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. services. For more information, call 333-5185.

Halloween dance slated for Oct. 31

A country Halloween dance will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, at Father Nallin Hall behind Nativity B.V.M. Church, 99 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.

Tickets are $5 at the door and will include desserts. Proceeds will benefit parish programs. There will be prizes for Halloween costumes, a 50-50 drawing, door prizes and desserts.
