Election Day Caf� open at TUMC

Members of Trucksville United Methodist Church, 40 Knob Hill Rd., will open an Election Day Caf� from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The menu will include hot and cold beverages; donuts, sticky buns, brownies and cookies; sandwiches, homemade soups and chili; hot dogs and wimpies and, new this year, chicken sliders (BBQ chicken on a mini bun). A Lunch-to-Go or Supper-to-Go, all freshly prepared, can be ready in just minutes any time during the day. Table service is also available

Church service will recognize veterans

A special service of recognition and remembrance of our nation’s veterans will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Shavertown United Methodist Church, North Pioneer Avenue.

Guest speaker will be Dr. Richard M. Oley, an active member of the Shavertown United Methodist Church who served as a major in the Medical Core of the United States Air Force.

There will also be a special ritual of remembering with candle lighting while naming those veterans who have died as well as those currently serving in the armed forces.

Meatloaf dinner slated

A baked meatloaf dinner and bake sale will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Loyalville United Methodist Church.

Cost is $8 for adults and $3.50 for children under the age of 12.

Take-outs are available by calling 477-3521 and leaving your name, phone number, number of dinners requested and pickup time.

Roast beef dinner planned

A family-style roast beef dinner will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Route 118, Dallas. Take-outs will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Cost is $8.50 for adults and $3.50 for children and reservations are encouraged. Tickets are available at the door or by calling 675-3859. The church is handicapped accessible.

Pasties available at Maple Grove church

Pasties will be baked at Maple Grove United Methodist Church, 5876 Main Rd., Sweet Valley, on November 19.
