CIVIC BRIEFS
Cub Scout Pack 232 invites all Scouts, current and past, to attend Scout Sunday at 9 a.m. today, Feb. 7, at Gate of Heaven Church, Machell Ave, Dallas in recognition of the Centennial Anniversary of Boy Scouting in America.
Scouts are encouraged to wear their Scout uniform. A light donut/juice reception will be served.
A Valentine Square Dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Noxen School, School Street.
The Roger Furman Band will play and call and a Queen of Hearts Contest will be held. Door prizes, food and refreshments will be available.
Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for students. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The dance is sponsored by the Noxen Historical Community Association Inc. with all proceeds benefitting the N.H.C.A. Building Project.

Ruth A. Gonzalez, Veterans Service Officer of the Veterans of the Vietnam War and the Veterans Coalition with be at the VVW Headquarters at 805 S. Township Blvd., Pittston, from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Feb. 16, to assist veterans and their families with VA benefits and services.

“Annie,” the popular family musical, will be presented by the Music Box Repertory Company Feb. 20, 21, 25-28, March 4-7 and 11-14 at the Music Box Dinner Playhouse, 196 Hughes St., Swoyersville. Curtain is 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays.
