The Greater Wyoming Valley Audubon Society will host Dr. Peter Petokas of Lycoming College/King’s College on the topic of Hellbenders (Pennsylvania’s largest salamanders) at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 15 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Irem Road, Dallas.

There will be a benefit pancake supper from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 21 at Centermoreland Untied Methodist Church.
All proceeds from this event will go to benefit medical expenses for Larry Sorber from Dymond Hollow Methodist Church. The cost is a donation at the door.

The Eighth Annual Spring Craft Sale of the Dallas Chapter Eastern Star Building Association will be held from 9 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, in the Eastern Star building, Foster Street and Woodlawn Avenue, Dallas.
Vendors will sell various items and Eastern Star members will serve lunch, featuring homemade soups, whimpies, hot dogs, haluski and desserts. The group’s famous Welsh cookies will also be available for purchase.

Join Luzerne County’s Penn State Extension Master Gardener Ron Petro in an organic gardening series, “From Seed to Kitchen,” from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays, March 22-April 12, at the Rock Recreation Center, 340 Carverton Rd., Shavertown.

The Sweet Valley Volunteer Fire C. will hold a family-style ham dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, with take-outs beginning at 4 p.m.
Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 to 11 and free for children under 6.
The Back Mountain Historical Association will have a special presentation at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 26, in Insalaco Hall at Misericordia University.
Harrison Wick, author of “Pennsylvania’s Back Mountain” and “Greater Wyoming Valley Trolleys” will talk about trolleys and street cars in the Wyoming Valley and the Back Mountain.
