Breakfast buffet planned in Noxen

The Noxen Volunteer Fire Co. will hold a breakfast buffet from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Nov. 15, at the fire hall, Stull Road.

Price is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12 years of age.

Meadows notes 25th anniversary

The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Auxiliary invites the public to celebrate the center’s 25th anniversary from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. today, Nov. 15, at the center, 55 W. Center Hill Rd., Dallas.

There will be refreshments, tours and an awards program.

Library Friends holding fruit sale

The Friends of the Back Mountain Memorial Library are sponsoring a fresh citrus fruit sale through November 16. Gift boxes of fruit are available with all proceeds going to benefit the library.

Order forms have been mailed to regular customers and new customers are invited to stop by the library at 96 Huntsville Rd., Dallas to pick one up.

Prepaid fruit sale orders may be picked up at the library from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5.

Zen Meditation program scheduled

An Introduction to Zen Meditation will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Mercy Center on the campus of Misericordia University.

The program includes a description of Zen meditation, a short practice period and time for questions.

A free will offering will be accepted and pre-registration required by calling Sr. Barbara Craig at 675-1872.

Luzerne Bank Lake Office notes first year

The public is invited to attend Luzerne Bank’s Lake Office First Anniversary Open House from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20. Refreshments and treats will be available to all friends and customers during the celebration.

The branch office is located on the corner of Route 118 and 415 in Dallas Township. Sonia Seman of Shavertown is the Lake Office manager.

Bus trip benefits breast cancer research

A one-day bus trip to New York City will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21, to raise money for breast cancer research.

The bus will depart from Wegman’s in Wilkes Barre at 7:30 a.m. and will leave New York around 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are$30. A fundraising auction will be held on the bus en route to the city.
