Two Back Mountain residents have been named to the dean’s list at Cazenovia College for the fall 2009 semester. Dean’s list students have achieved a 3.5 or better grade point average for all courses attempted and have earned 12 or more academic credits during the semester.

McLaughlin
Kimberly A. Konnick, of Dallas, is working toward a bachelor of fine arts degree in studio art, specializing in photography. She is a graduate of Bishop Hoban High School.
Sarah E. Rosengrant, of Falls, is working toward a bachelor of fine arts degree in interior design. She is a graduate of Tunkhannock High School.
Cazenovia College is located in upstate New York.
Zachery Roth, of Shavertown, a member of the Class of 2012, has been named to the 2009 fall semester dean’s list at Lafayette College.
Students named to the dean’s list have achieved at least a 3.60 semester grade point average out of a possible 4.0.
Mona Lotfipour and Sara Brown, both of Shavertown, have both received academic honors at Franklin & Marshall College for the 2009 fall semester.
Lotfipour, daughter of Asghar and Nargas Lotfipour, has been named to the dean’s list while Brown, daughter of Fredrick and Lisa Brown, was named to the honors list.
Both students are graduates of Wyoming Seminary.
Ellen McLaughlin, Ed.D., O.T.R./L., associate professor of occupational therapy and doctorate of occupational therapy program director at Misericordia University, has been appointed as the chairperson for the Educational Standards Review Committee by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
Dr. McLaughlin is currently a member of ACOTE and past program chair of the occupational therapy department at Misericordia University where she also served as interim dean of the College of Health Sciences.
The Dallas resident earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in occupational therapy from Misericordia University and her doctorate in learning, cognition and development from Rutgers University.
2/c Cadet Kathryn Gilligan has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at the United States Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT. She also achieved recognition on the Commandant of Cadets’ List for Excellence in Military Bearing.
Gilligan, a 2007 graduate of Dallas High School, was a member of the sailing team this fall which took first place in the McMillan Cup Offshore Sailing Collegiate Trophy Race held in the Chesapeake Bay. The team also took second place in the Intercollegiate Offshore National Championships.
She is currently attending the U.S. Naval Academy as an exchange student for the spring semester and is a member of their offshore sailing team. This summer she will be a member of the Coast Guard Academy’s Ocean Racing sailing team which will participate in a race to Bermuda.
Gilligan is the daughter of Marty and Mary Barbara Gilligan of Dallas.
