Five Back Mountain residents were named to the dean’s list at The Pennsylvania State University for the summer 2009 semester.
They are Lorena B. Decker, Dallas, University Park; Eric J. Kurello, Lehman, Wilkes-Barre; Anthony R. Raineri, Shavertown, Wilkes-Barre; Keith G. Sprau, Dallas, Abington; and Thomas A. Weeks, Trucksville, Wilkes-Barre.
James Siberski, M.S., assistant professor at Misericordia University, will receive the Father Matthew Jankola Lifetime Commitment to Servant Leadership Award from the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius on Oct. 25 in Danville, Pa.
Siberski is being recognized for his commitment to elder care, according to the religious congregation that was founded by Father Jankola in Scranton in 1909.
Luzerne County Community College recently awarded degrees to students who completed requirements for their field of study in August.
