Friedman Art Gallery exhibit ends today

A grand opening exhibit, “Guiding Light,” of the new Pauly Friedman Art Gallery at Misericordia University will feature an exhibition of large and extraordinary pieces by legendary artist Christopher Ries through today, Oct. 25.

The exhibit features a myriad of original pieces ranging in size, scope and color and a talk with the Tunkhannock-based artist.

Jazz concert planned for MU on November 4

Misericordia University is presenting the cool jazz sounds of the Rich Goldstein/Andy LaVerne Quartet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Lemmond Theater at Walsh Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Nobel Peace Price nominee to speak

Kathleen Kelly, co-coordinator of Voice for Creative Nonviolence and internationally-respected peace activist who has been nominated three times for the Nobel Peace Prize, will talk about her global peace efforts during a special lecture at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, in Sandy and Marlene Insalaco Hall, rooms 217-218, on the campus of Misericordia University.

Native American program set for PSU

Frank Little Bear, a First Nation Native American lecturer, performing artist and musician will present two shows on Thursday, Nov. 5, at Penn State Wilkes-Barre to celebrate Native American History Month. The first show will be at noon in the Student Commons and the second is set for 7 p.m. in Hayfield House Community Room.
