Stingrays seeking players

Anyone interested in joining the Back Mountain Stingrays U11 girls travel soccer team is asked to call Dennis at 760-4893.

Rock Rec Center plans basketball clinic

The Rock Rec Center will hold its Fourth Annual Fall Basketball Clinic on Monday and Wednesday evenings from October 19-28.

The clinic is for boys and girls K through sixth grade and will focus on pre-season preparation, conditioning,

games and skill development for every child, regardless of experience.

Clinic schedule is as follows: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for K and first grade; 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for second and third grades and 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. for fourth to sixth grades.

Newberry Ladies League holds final outing

The Newberry Ladies Golf League held its final travel outing on Thursday, Sept. 24, at Irem Country Club.

Captain and Crew Tournament chairpersons Joan Britt and Lillian McManus awarded prizes to the winners.

The winning team consisted of Janet Dent, Helen Davis, Mary Maher and Patti Watkins. Closest to the line on Hole No. 16 was Jane Jones and closest to the pin on Hole No. 12 was Ruth Federici. A luncheon followed the play.
